Lions Tigers and Cats

This weekend was pretty fun. On Friday I got to take some of my friends to music in the zoo. It's where the zoo opens at 6pm and closes at 10pm and there are live bands scattered around. That night was the classic rock night so we got up close to giraffes while listening to old school music :). We also saw a male lion awake and walking around, his eyes were AWESOME!
After the zoo, we saw a late showing of The Ugly Truth. It got bad reviews because the story line is predictable, but I thought it was hilarious along the way and def recommend it.
Sunday my grandmother took me to see the musical, "Cats" in Thousand Oaks. Loved the dancing and costumes. My friend James was singing in the pit too!
(sorry the pics were taken with a phone)
I'm starting to get used to the idea of going away to college now. I think I'm more excited than scared now. I got in touch with a bunch of people recently who will be there and can't wait to hang with them there!

A Berzerk of a Week

This week has been pretty good, I'm not going to lie. Tuesday a bunch of my friends slept over and in the morning we got breakfast and went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I read the whole HP series, and I think that this is one of the movies that most closely follows the details of the book. I strongly recommend it.
The rest of the week has been full of work. A couple go-sees...one in particular was pretty weird. I had to wear a mustache like that monopoly guy...hahah. I had to nanny long hours every day..good thing the girls are good company! I haven't really gotten to socialize the past couple days :( but my love life seems to be looking up...hopefully haha
Last night was...berzerk! I went to Cirque Berzerk. It originated as entertainment at the Burning Men festival. (hundreds of people gather in the dessert to drop acid for a couple days). Needless to say it is a trippy circus. Very TIm Burton meets Moulin Rouge. The story line is pretty cool too. It's like if your life sucks, go kill yourself and you'll have a cabaret in hell haha. Needless to say it is dark, but it is definitely worth checking out. They even have an after dance party. The audience is told to dress crazy, so the after party is like everyone is in the circus haha.
Today, I'm having another couple shoots for my card. It should be good. One is a vintagey flapper thing and another is a dark badass graffiti thing haha.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson

Today was super sad. Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, one of the dance world's greatest influences, and my idol died of self-inflicted cardiac arrest. I feel like Mr. Rodgers died all over again, my heart is broken. I remember all those hours I used to spend dancing along with him in front of my T.V., visiting Neverland Ranch, and defending his life decisions countless times. The poor guy has gone through so much shit from the media in life, and barely gets any credit for how much of an impact he has made on today's generation. The media is EVIL! The past 10 years has been nothing but negative news about him. The fact that it's pushing for an autopsy makes me sick. Mr. Jackson was a very private man, he'd be pulling a Thriller on us if he found out what they're trying to do!
But yeah, there is a life lesson out of this situation for me. The media= our peers. Our peers give us so much crap and stress us out so much. The media has been stressing Michael out a lot lately. He's been working on a tour extra hard just to have somewhat of a comeback to show that he's still got it. He even pushed the tour back so that he could rehearse more. He went into cardiac arrest because he was so stressed. It is truly a tragedy. I think that we all need to learn from this and not let our peers stress us out like that. Who cares what every one else thinks?
The people who care don't matter, and the people who matter don't care. <3
I love you Michael, R.I.P.

The Best Nights are Unplanned

So it's been a while. I started nannying again and making bank! But along with that came a cold that I didn't even know I had until I lost my voice. I sounded pretty funny. It's on film too if you look at my youtube haha That was one of the nights that was unplanned and entertaining. Who would have thought that you could have fun staying in like that? I haven't laughed that hard in a while. But don't get me wrong, my weekend picked up pretty quickly. Friday was the What Happens in Vegas Concert at the Roxy. Came in JUST as the curtain was falling on Anarbor. I don't know why they had to open for the show, there were bands there that weren't as amazing. But it was okay because I still got to talk and hang out with the guys during the other performances :). and I got a new liking to The Summer Set, The Secret Handshake, and The Cab. Eye Alaska was alright but their singer wasn't all that nice of a guy so that kind of ruined my opinion of their music. But anyways it was another good night :). Then Saturday Gaby and I were supposed to hang out with Alex but there was a miscommunication but it turned out alright because we ended up hanging out with Jeffree Star! So unbelievable it was amazing. I love how sometimes things turn out better when you ditch your plans. Today..or yesterday (it's 2:30am as I'm blogging) was Father's Day. Kind of weird to be celebrating my stepfather as if he were my own, but what could you do? My family got him a Wii. I think that thing will get surprisingly more use out of it from my parents than my brother or I.
